Curriculum Change Application Guidelines for Spring 2026
(Accepted students will start in the program in Fall 2026)

Deadline: March 15th, 2026

Applications and supporting documents will be submitted to the link below. Please read and follow all of the information/instructions below.

Students seeking a curriculum change to Applied Psychology should note the following:

  1. Curriculum Change Application: The Curriculum Change Application must be filled out completely.
  2. Statement of Interest: Students must submit a brief statement (250 words maximum) to explain: (1) Why you are interested in transferring to the Applied Psychology Program and (2) How the degree will contribute to your post-graduate plans. Statements should not include private, personal health history. This statement should be submitted with your electronic application.
  3. Academic Performance: Students applying to the Program should have a strong academic record (typically a GPA > 3.0). The Applied Psychology Major is a small, academically challenging program with competitive admissions. Admissions will be granted on the basis of students' academic record and available space in the program.
  4. Course Requirements: There are no specific course requirements for transfer applications, but the admissions committee looks for strong performance in math, science, and/or psychology courses. Students are encouraged to apply early in their degree (with less credits earned).
  5. Unofficial Transcript: Students must upload a student copy of their unofficial Farmingdale College transcript from OASIS or a DegreeWorks PDF. You do not need an official transcript.
  6. Mid-Semester Progress Report Form: This is required for new students (first semester at FSC) who do not have prior grades at the institution and optional for students who have concerns about their academic performance and want to demonstrate improved performance in the current semester. If you are not submitting a form, you can upload a blank page into this section of your application. Please DOWNLOAD the form to send to your faculty in-person or electronically. Faculty should estimate the grade earned at this point in the semester. If you have difficulty uploading the form to your application, you can email it directly to Jennifer Gonder.
  7. Acceptance and Advisement: You will be notified whether you have been accepted two weeks after the application deadline. *****Please note: you should be advised by your current academic department and register for classes as advised while awaiting admissions notification. If you are accepted to the program, you will be asked to come to the Psychology Department to review your registration and make appropriate changes.

If you have any questions before you submit your application, please e-mail our Program Chairperson: Dr. Jennifer Gonder – Jennifer Gonder or the Acting Department Chairperson: Dr. Michael Goodstone– Michael Goodstone
