This course is designed to provide students with the necessary skills to lead and mentor peers within the campus community and beyond. With a blend of lectures, discussions, case studies, and real world applications, students will explore key leadership theories, communication strategies, and mentorship techniques. The course will also highlight the importance of self-awareness, emotional intelligence, ethical decision-making, and cultural competency in leadership and mentorship roles.

You'll gain the skills and confidence needed to join faculty-led research projects, develop and present a research poster on a topic you're passionate about, and complete CITI certification—preparing you to conduct ethical research in the social and behavioral sciences.
