Lecturer (10 Month) Email Hale Hall, Room 229
I look at, analyze, organize, and share photographs created in the 19th and 20th centuries; with a focus on how communities and photographies intersect and what that says about our larger society. I use the term “photographies” as defined by John Tagg, a historian of photography, who argues that photography can fall into multiple disciplines and be studied from many perspectives.

My research has been presented at national conferences, including the College Art Association and published in journals such as Art Bulletin, Journal18, and Women’s Art Journal. I have curated and contributed to exhibitions at institutions including the Binghamton University Art Museum and the Long Island Museum and held curatorial and educational roles at museums such as the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Heckscher Museum.

My scholarship and my teaching prioritizes the interconnectedness of art, art history, and visual and material culture. I am committed to interdisciplinary teaching, public scholarship, and expanding critical approaches to art history and visual culture.
