CSTEP Freshman Summer Bridge Program
Eligible freshmen will get the opportunity to increase their preparedness for the transition to college by learning to navigate the Farmingdale State College Campus, attend seminars to help achieve their educational goals and participate in activities to foster relationships with other incoming freshmen and mentors. Students in Bridge live on campus for two weeks, excluding weekends, and have the opportunity to acclimate to the college, get preparation for courses they will take during freshman year, register for classes, meet faculty and other students in their majors, participate in leadership activities, learn about the necessary offices and supports on the campus etc. All costs are paid by the college and CSTEP. There is no cost to the student or student's family for Summer Bridge.
Summer Bridge Activities

Packing List
- Alarm clock
- Bedding - twin size sheet set, comforter and pillow
- Towel, bathrobe, and slippers or flip-flops
- Medicine (including prescriptions)
- Umbrella
- Iron & hangers, if necessary
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Small garbage container
- Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, gel, lotion, deodorant, razor, etc.)
- Personal items (cell phone, charge, etc.)
- Laptop/tablet, and/or flash drive (you are responsible for the security of these items)
- School supplies – book bag, pens, pencils, notebook, etc.
- Appropriate sleepwear & daytime clothing (enough for one week as you will go home on Friday)
- Current health insurance card, or copy – this is important if you plan to live on campus
- Official final high school transcript
