ACE Overview
- The SUNY Accelerating Completion through Engagement (ACE) program at Farmingdale is an exciting new initiative that provides holistic services for first-generation college students as well as those who have demonstrated financial need. The primary goal of ACE is to help students earn a bachelor's degree on time. Our staff will work with you to succeed in college and beyond!
ACE Benefits
- ACE is limited to 150 students and is reserved for active participants who are able
to fully engage. As an ACE student, you are eligible for the following services:
- Individualized counseling
- Financial support (e. academic scholarships, textbook stipends, transportation assistance)
- Leadership and career development
- Peer mentoring
- Interactive workshops and events
ACE Eligibility
- Students applying to ACE at Farmingdale must:
- Be an accepted student
- Be a first-generation college student (neither parent received a bachelor’s degree) and/or have demonstrated financial need (i.e., Pell eligible)
- Be a first-time freshman (21 credits or less) or a first-semester transfer student with a completed associate degree
- Be enrolled full-time (15 credits per semester)
- Have completed one or more of the following Financial Aid applications:
- Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)
- We encourage students who are not eligible to apply for FAFSA or TAP due to immigration status to explore funding options through the New York State DREAM Act Application
- All majors are eligible
