Agricultural Technology

Our specialized programs in Urban Horticulture offer a unique blend of core traditional techniques with the latest cutting-edge technology. Architecture & Environmental Design

Our focus is on the design and construction of structures and spaces that are ecologically sustainable and environmentally safe. Our programs have a strong relationship to local construction companies, providing applied learning opportunities in the design and construction of office buildings, shopping centers, schools, and health care facilities. Career opportunities exist in the public and private spaces of where people live, work, and play. The boom in new construction in the region is expected to continue into the future.

The dynamic world of business is fiercely competitive and rapidly changing. Today’s industries are using “Big Data” to make strategic business decisions in our progressively analytical world. All of our programs focus on emerging industry trends, technology, and innovation We offer programs that allow students to choose their specific interests. Each department strives to engage students to expand upon their classroom experiences through internship and experiential learning opportunities.

Communications 

Communications is the art of telling a compelling story and it has become increasingly important for every industry, company, and organization. There are extraordinary benefits and career paths for individuals who can effectively communicate. Our program prepares students for employment in all fields that rely on superior communication skills, including mass media/marketing and public relations firms, website and social media, healthcare, law, biopharmaceutical, sports organizations, not-for-profits, and many other industries.

Computing & Mathematics

Being good at math is about having a deep understanding of how things work. Our programs reach beyond computing numbers quickly and accurately. We challenge our students to use their mathematical theory foundation to brainstorm, collaborate, and think outside the box to solve real-world problems across various industries.

Humanities & Social Science

Humanities and Social Sciences studies are broad in nature, allowing students to take a holistic approach to learn, understand, and appreciate human behavior. They provide a direct connection to how we interact in social, cultural, environmental, economic, and political circumstances. As students make connections between behavior, ideas, and concepts across various subjects, they develop many important transferable skills that can be used in various industries.

Law, Justice, & Public Service

The Center for Criminal Justice is the go-to place for students who want to help others, reduce crime, and protect our society. We offer degree options that focus on the field of law enforcement and corrections within the local, state, and federal levels.  

Whether your goal is to enter the police academy, or earn your bachelor degree to increase your career options, we have a program that will help you reach your goal. Our programs educate students in the areas of forensics, crime prevention, security technology, counterterrorism, courts and judiciary, and so much more.

Life & Physical Sciences

Life Science degrees provide our students with solid scientific foundations. FSC provides a wide range of opportunities in the developing bioscience fields or entrance to graduate school in numerous health fields. Our minors in physical science allows students to specialize in areas that will support their chosen degree. We also offer a unique certificate program to people who’ve earned non-science bachelor’s degrees and now seek a career change into the health professions.

Visual & Performing Arts

Society increasingly craves visual stimulation that is creative, fresh, and innovative. Artistically minded students will be challenged to express themselves in a powerful and engaging ways. Our students have a passion for effective visual communication that is relevant, authentic, and creative.

Our newest degree in Interaction Design (IXD) is all about human behavior and the user experience in the design and development of technology products and services. Students learn the true value of collaboration, vision, risk-taking, passion, social responsibility and play.

Living on Campus

Even if your student lives close to the campus, living away from home is part of the complete college experience. The Office of Residence Life is ready to make that transition work for your student.

With three residence halls FSC has the right one for your student. Orchard Hall has suite-style rooms with a shared living area and kitchen– is our largest. Alumni and Dewey Halls – with corridor-style rooms – have both been recently renovated.
